Cheri has been decorating cakes for over thirty years! It all started with a simple Wilton class at a shopping mall, since then she has been schooled not only by her never ending trial and error but also by many of the worlds top decorators. Including: Eleanor Reilander of South Africa, Roland Winbeckler of Washington State, Geraldine Randlesome from Canada, just to name a few. She is very proud of the fact that she never ceased learning from her fellow decorators. She has spent countless hours "behind a spatula" both in professional bakeries, in competition, and also as an educator training decorators at many bakeries around the nation. She currently stays very busy sharing her skills and technique with students nationally. Cheri has been featured on many different television shows both locally and nationally, appearing on the "Elvis birthday cake" episode of Food Network Challenge. She has been featured in magazines and catalogs countless times. Her work is very frequently seen in many feature and technical publications, like American Cake Decorator, Brides, The Kansas City star, and many more. Locally Cheri has been busy with several charity events where her ginger bread "cakes" have demanded a high price from bidders. It is also rarely known that Cheri is also very busy providing product for Hallmark Cards. Her cookies and cakes can be seen on anything from cards to wrapping paper!! Cheri has done cakes for some of the Mid-West's top celebrities including George Brett, Golfer Tom Watson, Nascar drivers, Pro football players and more!
In her personal life Cheri is the Grandmother of 9. She has 2 daughters ( Tammy and Pam) and one son (Mike).
It is her love of decorating that keeps her so busy today. Her greatest joy is teaching and also learning. She enjoys the cake show contest she attends not only because she gets to show case herself but mainly because she enjoys the company and "comradery" she feels towards her fellow decorators. She plans to vigorously attend many upcoming events.
